TOWN OF OLD LYME
OPEN SPACE COMMISSION MEETING
                                        Friday, September 13, 2013

  • Call to Order/Welcome:
Chairperson Diana Atwood Johnson called to order the meeting at 9:00am.
Members Attending: Diana Atwood Johnson, George James, Ted Kiritsis, Peter Cable, Bruce Baratz, Bill Dunbar and Amanda Blair.
Missing: Evan Griswold and Kurt Zemba.

  • Voting Alternates: None
    3.   Approval of Minutes of July, 2013.
     After discussion it was determined that the June Minutes were not Approved and not   
      everyone had received the July minutes, so the Approval of the June and July    
      Minutes was deferred to the October Meeting.

  • Old Business:
Motion by Peter Cable, Seconded by Bill Dunbar, to go into Executive Session.
Later, a Motion by Bill Dunbar, Seconded by George James, to go out of Executive Session. No Votes were taken.
No discussion on Kus
Old Lyme Land Trust received their Grant money from the Town for the Ames Parcel purchase.
The Town is working on an Open Space Layer on the Town Website. At a later point we will be able to put the Trail Maps on the Website. Comments were made about a direct link from the website to the trail maps, possibility of Conservation Easements at a later date.
Correspondence with Ted Crosby concerning Trail Mapping. The Ames map looked good according to Diana and she would like to continue with the project so she will follow-up with Ted.

 The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Agency has been soliciting ideas including restoring the riverfront, trails, etc. Discussion followed concerning the RT Peterson property. George will participate in an unofficial capacity to see what is “going on” and the suggestion was made to contact Fish and Wildlife to see what their development ideas were.

  • Other Business:
There was discussion about future Open Space Agenda Items.

  • Adjournment:
Motion made by Bill Dunbar, Seconded by George James, to adjourn the meeting, passed and meeting adjourned at 10:40am.
